How Does the Program Work?

You and members of your family can call the toll-free number (800) 932-0034 and set up an appointment or speak with a provider by phone about your situation. Depending on your company's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) model, you may qualify for sessions for assessment, diagnosis, referral and short-term problem resolution. Emergency service is available 24 hours everyday. Any problem or conflict you feel is affecting your general health and well-being (the stresses of everyday life, relationships, even problems related to work) are covered by the EAP.

Examples of circumstances may include:

  • Financial and legal difficulties
  • Family and personal conflicts
  • Stress and emotional management
  • Substance abuse (alcohol & drugs) as well as prevention
  • Health concerns
  • Loss and grief issues

Who pays for EAP services?

Your company has prepaid the initial assessment and limited counseling for you and your immediate family. If you and your counselor agree that further assistance is needed, you may be referred to other sources which may be covered by your health insurance. If needed services are not covered by insurance, other options may be explored. Your EAP counselor will work closely with you to minimize any expense.
